Terms of Service

Effective 30 August 2026

These terms cover your use of Servosa — the app, the web console and the API. By creating an account you agree to them. They are written to be read, not to be impressive; if something here is unclear, ask us at jekjeksalcedo@gmail.com and we will explain it.

What Servosa is — and is not

Servosa connects homeowners who need work done with independent professionals who do it, and provides the tools around that: quotes, scheduling, messaging, invoicing and payment.

We are not a party to the work itself. The professional is an independent business, not our employee, agent or subcontractor. The agreement to do a job, at a price, on a date, is between the homeowner and the professional. We do not perform the work, supervise it, guarantee its quality, or set its price.

We do not verify professionals’ licences, insurance or qualifications unless a listing explicitly says we have. Satisfy yourself that whoever you hire is competent and insured for the work you are asking them to do.

Your account

  • You must be 16 or older and able to enter a binding agreement.
  • Give accurate details and keep them current — the other side relies on them.
  • Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account; tell us promptly if you think someone else has access.
  • One account per person or business. Do not impersonate anyone.

Rules for using the platform

Do not use Servosa to:

  • post work you do not intend to have done, or quotes you do not intend to honour;
  • harass, threaten, defraud or discriminate against anyone, or post content that is unlawful or abusive;
  • move a job off-platform to avoid fees after making contact through Servosa, or ask someone else to;
  • scrape, resell or bulk-extract listings, contact details or any other data from the platform;
  • interfere with the service — probing, overloading, or circumventing its rate limits and security controls.

Messages sent through the platform are automatically screened for abuse, fraud and off-platform payment attempts. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, and we will tell you why when we do.

Quotes, jobs and cancellation

A quote a professional sends is an offer. When a homeowner accepts it, that becomes an agreement between the two of them on the terms shown, and Servosa records it.

Either side can cancel work that has not started, through the app. Once a job is underway, cancellation and any amount owed for work already done are between the homeowner and the professional; the platform records what happened but does not decide it.

Once an invoice has been sent to a homeowner, its amounts are fixed and cannot be edited — that is enforced by the system, not just by policy. A professional who needs to change an invoice must have it rejected and issue a revision, which the homeowner sees as a new document.

Payment and fees

Card payments are processed by Stripe under their terms. Servosa does not see or store card numbers.

Where a fee applies to a job or a subscription, the amount is shown before you commit to it. Fees are charged on payments collected through the platform. Professionals are responsible for their own taxes, including charging and remitting any sales tax on the work they do.

A homeowner may dispute an invoice through the app within the dispute window shown on the invoice. We review disputes and may issue a refund of a platform-collected payment. We are not a court and cannot compel either side to do anything beyond what we can do with money that passed through the platform.

Reviews

Homeowners and professionals can review each other after a completed job. Reviews must describe a real job you were actually part of. We do not delete a review for being unflattering; we do remove ones that are abusive, defamatory, off-topic or bought. A professional can publicly respond to a review of their work.

Your content

What you upload — photos, descriptions, messages, reviews — stays yours. You give us permission to store it, show it to the people it is meant for, and use it to operate the service. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except where we have to keep a record (see Privacy).

Availability

We work to keep Servosa up but do not promise uninterrupted service. Features may change, and some depend on outside providers — payments, messaging, AI drafting, address lookup — which can be unavailable for reasons outside our control. When that happens the platform tells you rather than failing silently.

Liability

Servosa is provided as-is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for the quality, safety, legality or outcome of work arranged through the platform, for the conduct of any user, or for indirect or consequential losses. Where we are found liable, our total liability is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Ending it

You can close your account in the app at any time. Deletion is blocked while you have a job in progress or an unsettled invoice — finish or cancel the work first. What happens to your data afterwards is described in the Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or where we are required to. Obligations that survive — payment for work already done, and the record of completed transactions — survive closure.

Changes, and the law that applies

We may update these terms. For a significant change we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect, and the effective date at the top will move. Continuing to use Servosa after that means you accept the new version.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Nova Scotia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and the courts of Nova Scotia have jurisdiction.
